This anthology came out at the start of February and I am reviewing each of the short stories in turn (excluding my own of course). A Mother's Instinct, by Jaidis Shaw is excellent. The story begins at a funeral, no spoilers there considering the tagline is "She didn't mean to kill her father". There are moments of violence and graphic scenes but what comes through most strongly is the humour and the humanity of this tale, a single mother trying to do the best for her daughter. I loved it and I'm sure you will too. I am interested in finding out what Shaw achieves in a longer story.
